Trip to the Zoo

Last week the kids and I headed to the zoo for a sunny but a bit chilly day. We were all set to take our time looking at the animals and then head to the playground to run around a bit, but as soon as we walked into the zoo enterance, 3 coach buses of school kids on a field trip pulled up, so we rearranged our plans and headed to the playground first!



The rhinos were out on our way to the playground so we did stop to watch them for a bit.

Thankfully, the playground was still pretty quiet. It gets very very busy in the summer months and on weekends, so it was nice that the kids were able to almost have it to themselves.

A trip to the zoo cannot be complete without a ride on the carousel!

After seeing the outside animal exibits, we also went into the aviary and reptile house. The kids were excited to get up close and personal to the snake exibits. I said no thanks to that.
