Mother's Day

After spending last Mother's Day in bed and completely sick with some nasty virus, this year's holiday was very much improved. I started the day off with a good 5 mile run with Mara and Mike then went out to breakfast with Nate and the kids at Blue Spoon Cafe. The people that own this restaurant also own Culvers, so all the pancakes that are served at Blue Spoon have custard in the batter and are absolutely delicious. I love to eat them plain, without any butter or syrup. They are so good.

Nate took the kids to Target the night before and let them pick out some gifts for me. He said he didn't help at all in the selection of the gifts. Here are the very-fitting and unique gifts I got: hand sanitizer (or "appetizer", as Maya calls it), a travel pack of Wet-Ones, scotch tape, post-its, a Mickey cup and the as-seen-on-TV "Perfect Brownie" pan, which has dividers already in the pan so the brownies come out perfectly square. My kids know me quite well!
