Leah's shower

Last weekend we held Leah's baby shower at Steve and Cindee's house. The weather looked kind of iffy all morning but it turned out great! Although it was a little windy, the temperature wasn't too hot which I think everyone enjoyed.

Leah's nursery is decorated with Dr. Suess colors and items, so that is the theme that we went with for the party. Saturday morning we were joined by Ryan's sisters, Jeni and Rachel, and we went to work setting up. As we were putting out lawn chairs, Jordan went to the garage and got his and Maya's two little lawn chairs to add to the group. : )

We put Maya and Jordan in charge of putting the water and juice in the big container. They took great pride in piling them up.

Here is the awesome diaper cake Cindee made for Leah...isn't so cute?

Yummy cake from Bult's Bakery in Shawano.

We had alot of fun finding ways to carry over the theme. Here is Nate's precisely arranged cheese and sausage tray.

And you can't have a Dr. Suess baby shower without green eggs! We fit in the ham by making ham and cheese croissant sandwiches so then we had Green Eggs and Ham.

We made these brightly colored favor boxes and filled them with M&Ms for the guests to take home.

One of the games we played was to guess the baby's arrival date. Leah is due on September 5th, so we had people write their name down on the date they picked and then we'll send the winner a prize in the mail once the little one arrived. I'm hoping for the 4th!

Another activity we did was have each guest put their handprint on a piece of fabric and sign it. Cindee is going to use all the handprinted fabric squares to make a lap quilt for Leah. It turned out awesome and I can't wait to see the finished product! What a great idea! We even got Maya and Jordan's little handprints on there. But for me, the best part was seeing Leah write "Mom" and Ryan write "Dad" on theirs...cue the tears. : )

Leah with Ryan's sisters, Jeni and Rachel. They were such great help and it was really nice to have the whole Miller and Early family together. Thanks, ladies!

Here is Leah with Cindee and her sisters, Darlene, Barbara and Rita. They came all the way from Eau Claire for the party and it was nice to see them. They always bring so much happiness to where ever they are so they were a very welcome addition to our big event.

And finally here is myself, Leah, Amanda, Cindee and Maya, who was being a little photo-shy. I want to thank Leah for being so great about putting up with my constant picture taking all day. It was a wonderful day - Leah got tons of great gifts and I think everyone had a really good time. Big thanks to Cindee who did so much planning, cooking, designing and made the day nearly perfect.
Now we just wait...I can't wait to meet this little one and be an aunt!
