Trick or Treating at the zoo

Two Sundays ago we headed over to Henry Vilas Zoo for their annual Trick or Treat party. In the past years, we've gotten there right when the event started, but this year we were a little slower due to my recovery. By the time we finally got there, the party had been going for about a half an hour or so but the line to get candy was nearly an hour long!

Nate and I were about ready to leave and find something else fun to do but the kids were really patient and didn't complain once. It did help that the line wound around the animal exhibits, plus they volunteers standing around playing games and handing out temporary tatoos.

We ended up having a nice time - the weather was perfect and as I said before, the kids were so well behaved. They got a good mix of stuff - some candy, but also some stickers, tatoos, a toothbrush for a local dentist, and rocks from Cave on the Mounds!
