Brewer game

A couple Sundays ago, my parents treated our family to a Brewer game! We had taken the kids last year and were surprised at how well they did, so we knew that we had to return this summer. We met up with my parents and my brother Matt for some tailgating before the game began.

I absolutely love this picture of Maya. She was chomping down on her hot dog - true tailgater.

It's always nice to be with my little brother Matt. We don't get to see enough of him. I suggest he move to Madison. : )

As usual, Maya got the best mode of transportation into Miller Park - on Grandpa Bill's shoulders!

The group before we headed in for the game.

We had great seats - on the 3rd baseline and thankfully in the shade! It was a hot day and we all got a little sweaty while we were tailgating (the kids were playing with the McQueen and Princess cold packs to keep cool!) so the absence of the sun and a cool breeze was very welcome!

I don't have a picture of it, but we found out that Maya likes in the shell peanuts! I noticed she was watching my dad eat some so I handed her one and she immediately took a bite right out of the shell. : ) After I showed her how to crack them open, she seriously put away at least 20-30 peanuts, all within about 5 minutes. No one wanted to share a water bottle with her because it had lots of peanut chunks floating in it. Yum.

Jordan enjoyed using the binoculars to check out the crowd and Bernie Brewer's hangout. The sausage race was also a highlight, but not as excited as the big twist ice cream cup that we had during the 7th inning!

When Maya was getting a little squirmy, we brought out coloring books and markers. She really got into it and was concentrating so hard - I checked out her masterpiece later and she was super precise and stayed in all the lines. Maybe it was the peanut water.

Just like last year, the game went into extra innings. This year, we just stayed through the end of the 9th - although the kids were doing great and could have made it a couple extra innings, we had a drive ahead of us and wanted to beat some of the traffic. The Brewers did end up winning but the game didn't even get done till we were about 15 minutes from our house!
Thanks again to my parents for the tickets. It was a very fun event that I hope we can repeat for many years to come!

  1. Mmmm. Peanut water. We'll have to try that delicacy when she gets older. Looks like so much fun!
