Getting better

The day was started off with a wonderful suprise...everyone slept till 7:15 AM!! A rare but much needed treat at the Miller household. We filled up our morning by running errands. We stopped at Kohl's to try to find Jordan some jeans. He has worn holes in knees of all his jeans with all his crazy car driving. It was kind of strange to come to the realization that I can't shop for him in the baby/toddler section anymore...we had to go over to the big boy section where there are less puppy dogs and choo-choo trains and more skulls & crossbones and weird video game characters on the front of the t-shirts. Sad. But we did find some jeans and Maya enjoyed checking out herself in the 3-way mirrors in the dressing room.

When we got home the kids made up a game about the blue boat and the pink boat. Here they are in their aquatic vehicles.

Here is another observation of Jordan getting older. While he was taking a bath tonight, he stretched all the way out and I noticed that he filled up the entire length of the tub. When did he get so big? I remember when he used to be this tiny little thing perched on the yellow foam bath cushion. Sad again. But in a good way. : )

Nate had made up a game with the kids called "Listening Chair". It came about one night when I was away at yoga. It's pretty simple - they sit on the chair, open the door, put on their listening ears and then talk about what they hear. Tonight was a perfect night for it - it was raining really hard and there was some thunder mixed in there too. The kids love it and I think any game that Nate makes up is awesome, so here is a picture of the game in progress.
I better start packing. We are leaving for our cabin weekend tomorrow night and it always takes me longer than I think to get everyone ready. The weather for Three Lakes looks all over the place - in the 60's and sunny one day, in the 40's and rainy the next so I'll have to be prepared with an assortment of clothing. Jordan looks like he's going to be okay to go to preschool tomorrow so he'll have a really fun day. Nate is going to join him at his field trip to the zoo and then Jordan has his last soccer class tomorrow afternoon. We're going to go out to dinner with Grandma Cindee and Papa Steve afterwards and then get the kids' pajamas on and drive to Shawano. I'll try to get some good action shots of our little soccer start to post on here.
