Sick day

Jordan had to miss his first day of preschool today because he was running a fever. He was upset at first but perked up a little when I told him we could make him a bed on the couch and watch a DVD. I usually don't let the kids watch any TV during the day so it felt kind of weird to park them in front of The Lion King, but I think it was good for them to have some down time to rest their little bodies.
Maya had a fever this weekend that she has recovered from so she is feeling the best out of all of us. She has so much energy, you would never have guessed that she got up this morning at 5:00 AM!

The kids look forward to Nate's return from work every night and get so excited when they see his bike pull up. Tonight he and Jordan built a "super Land Rover" with Legos. Maya provided tea for everyone from her little pink tea set.
I wanted to mention a cute Jordan moment. Tonight Maya hurt herself when she was playing with a pinwheel. She started crying really hard so Nate and I were giving her hugs and trying to comfort her. All of the sudden Jordan starting laying out Maya's pretty pony, her Snow White baby, and a couple other of her favorite toys in attempt to make her smile. It was so nice. He is a sweetheart, even when he is running a fever!
I hoping everyone will feel better tomorrow. Jordan has a preschool field trip to the zoo on Thursday and then Papa Steve and Grandma Cindee are coming to visit us and to watch Jordan play soccer. Later that night we are leaving for Shawano and then spending the weekend up at my parents cabin in Three Lakes. We are all very excited to spend some time up there - it is one of our favorite places to be!

  1. Jordan, I had a sick day yesterday, too! I was on the couch with a nasty migraine. My girls took care of me--they brushed my hair to make me beautiful and played doctor to make me better. We had to watch TV, too...we watched lots of Playhouse Disney. I hope you are feeling better today! Love, Sarah
